The response of five ABCD units operating outdoors with HEPA filters on the air inlets: (a) Uncompensated black carbon (BC) concentrations; (b) Temperature-compensated BC concentrations; (c) Optical cell temperatures. All data is provided on a 60-min time base. For each ABCD, the slope ratio of the optical cell and mean absolute error (MAE) of BC concentration measurements are shown in the legends. The MAE of BC measurements is evaluated relative to the desired zero response (0 μg m⁻³).
