GJA1 is associated with a diverging outcome depending on breast cancer subtype. The Kaplan–Meyer plots show survival curves for patients with breast tumors expressing either high (blue) or low (red) levels of GJA1 mRNA in pooled tumors or in individual intrinsic subtypes. TCGA, NKI, Vanvliet and both Curtis datasets were aggregated for the analysis. The best cutoff was determined as the percentile lending the lowest log rank test p value (Figure A12) and was 53 in Pooled tumors, 35 in luminal A (LumA) tumors, 68 in luminal B (LumB), 13 in Basal and 18 in Her2e tumors.
