Fibrinogen concentration measured in human plasma after 2 hrs of surface incubation in whole blood plasma. The results indicate a significantly higher concentration of fibrinogen bound to PS as indicated by less remaining fibrinogen in the plasma (p ≤ 0.05). No significant differences were seen in the binding of fibrinogen to LLDPE and HA-LLDPE surfaces, although overall trends pointed to less fibrinogen binding to HA-LLDPE surfaces. Experiments were replicated three times with three different cell populations on at least five different samples (nmin = 15).
