Upregulation of radioprotective 105 kDa protein (RP105) decreases myocardial infarction during myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI) under a light microscope. Myocardial tissues from sham group were well arranged in clear striations with normal cell morphology. In the IR group and Ad-EGFP group, infarcted myocardium showed myocardial fiber deformation and disorganization, myocardial cell swelling and rupturing, and inflammatory cell infiltration. The Ad-RP105 group displayed partial remission of myocardium with approximate normal structure, slight edema and a tiny amount of inflammatory cell infiltration.
