Phenotypic appearance of 3-week-old Col-0 and s8h-1 plants grown on (A) 0.25 MS and (B) 0.5 MS media. Plants were grown on MS media with various Fe content (0–50 µM Fe2+) in plant growth chambers under a photoperiod of 16 h light (~70 μmol m−2 s−1) at 22 °C and 8 h dark at 20 °C. A second mutant allele (s8h-2) showed a very similar response (data not shown).
