Cardioprotective effects of MMPI lead candidates on neonatal rat cardiac myocytes subjected to simulated I/R. Cell viability was measured after 4 h simulated ischemia followed by 2 h of simulated reperfusion. Data are expressed in the ratio of vehicle (DMSO) control in percentage. Positive data (more than 100%) shows higher viability compared to the control. ^*p < 0.05 vs. Vehicle, n = 5–6 (One-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett post-hoc test). The most effective doses of the series of experiments are presented in the case of all compounds (for more detailed results see for Supplementary materials, Figure 4).
