Schematic diagram of a forward osmosis process for organic solvent recovery. At the membrane compartment, the solvent from the feed solution transports through the membrane to the draw solution while the solutes are rejected. As a result, the feed solution is concentrated while the draw solution is diluted. Subsequently, the diluted draw solution can be regenerated by many means, such as direct filtration, distillation and evaporation
