Figure 1. Inducible deletion of p110α in adult MuSCs severely impaired muscle regeneration.

Figure 1

  1. Top: the experimental scheme. Eight‐week‐old heterozygous (Ctrl) and iKO littermates (n = 3, in each group) were first treated with tamoxifen (Tmx) over 4 weeks followed by cardiotoxin (CTX) injection into tibialis anterior (TA) muscles. Mice were sacrificed 2, 5, 7, 14, and 28 days post‐injury, and TA muscles were subjected to cryosectioning and hematoxylin–eosin staining. Representative images of regenerating TA muscles are shown. The 2nd and 4th rows are enlarged images of the boxed areas shown above. Arrowheads: immune cells.
  2. Sections of TA muscles from D5 mice in (A) were immunostained for eMHC (red) and laminin (green). The nuclei were counterstained by DAPI (blue).
  3. Quantification of eMHC+ myofibers from (B) by examining multiple TA sections from three pairs of mice.
Data information: Scale bars: 100 μm. In (C), the data are presented as mean ± s.d. ***P < 0.001; unpaired Student's t‐test.
