The HIR is severely deficient in fhy3-1. Seedlings of the WT and of the fhy1 and fhy3 mutants were exposed to continuous FR (white bars) or to hourly pulses of FR (gray bars) at equal fluence of either 36 mmol m⁻² h⁻¹ (A) or 180 mmol m⁻² h⁻¹ (B).
