Preliminary experiments to establish the appropriate IL-6 concentration for in vitro testing. Cells were seeded at a density of 3 × 10³/cm². After 1 day in cell culture, cells were subjected to 4-hour simulated acute “ischemia” and 4-hour reoxygenation (AcS). Cell numbers were quantified by Hoechst-based nucleated cell counts. Cell survival was calculated by dividing cell numbers from experimental groups by control group. ^∗∗p < 0.001 and ^∗p < 0.05.
