Initially a whole-body magnetic resonance angiogram is produced (A), with a curved multiplanar reformat generated starting at the bifurcation of the right common carotid artery extending to the bifurcation of the right common femoral artery (B and C). The proximal distance from the common carotid bifurcation to the aorta is measured (B), with the common carotid to common femoral distance then measured (C). The path length is then calculated as C–2×B.
