Note that tropicamide induced a significant increase in pERK2 signals in the mPFC (F(1,15) = 8.237, P = 0.012), but not in the hippocampus (F(1,12) = 0.056, P = 0.818) and cerebellum (F(1,12) = 0.433, P = 0.523). Rats were given an i.p. injection of vehicle (Veh) or tropicamide (Tro) at 10 mg/kg and were sacrificed 15 or 30 min after drug injection for Western blot analysis of changes in pERK1/2 and ERK1/2 expression. Data are presented as means ± SEM (n = 4 per group). *P < 0.05 versus vehicle at the same time point.
