A wave form illustration of the T790M mutation. Direct sequencing was performed using a PCR product amplified by the PointMan® assay (upper column). The arrow indicates a substitution mutation (2369C>T) of T790M. T790M was detected in two samples (#1, #7) by the PointMan® assay. In #1, T790M was not detected by the usual method, not using the PointMan® assay (lower column). In #7, a waveform indicating T790M was emphasized in the PointMan® assay, although double waveforms indicating both wild-type and T790M were overlapping in the usual method.
