Effects of calcium and calmodulin on the purified plant PLA₂ activity. The purified plant PLA₂ obtained from the Superose 12 gel filtration FPLC column was pre-incubated with the indicated concentrations of calmodulin (40,000 units/mg protein) in the presence of 3 mm CaCl₂ or 2 mm EGTA at 37°C for 10 min followed by assaying the PLA₂ activity as described in “Materials and Methods.” Each data point represents the means ± se of three independent experiments.
