Final energy spread of the proton beam (indicated in the color bar) at the exit of the ES, as a function of the dipole length (x-axis) and magnetic field (y-axis). The maps indicate different mean energies of the selected beam ((A) 2 MeV, (B) 5 MeV, (C) 10 MeV and (D) 20 MeV). The initial divergence of the beam is 3 mrad half-angle for all the cases and the aperture of the selecting slit is 500 µm. By fixing the desired final energy spread value it is possible to identify in the maps the required combination of ld and B related to the working point.
