Intact animals were extracted with 90% acetone and chl a and c quantified by A₆₆₄ and A₆₃₀ measurements according to Sterman (1988). Values represent the average of at least three sea slugs for each time point. Corresponding data for V. litorea filaments are chl a = 0.27 μg chl mg⁻¹ fresh wt, chl c = 0.016 μg chl mg⁻¹ fresh wt, and chl a/c = 17.1.
