Tip angle in NO-depleted roots after gravistimulation. Arabidopsis seedlings were vertically grown for 3 days and then treated with the indicated concentrations of cPTIO as NO scavenger or water as control for 60 min before being rotated by 90°. Roots were monitored every 2 min for 8 h. (A) Root tip angle was determined by a software-based analysis as indicated in section Materials and Methods. Error bars representing SE are indicated for 24 min intervals. P-values are represented by dashed lines as upward deflections. No statistically significant differences were found between control and 0.2 mM cPTIO treatment. (B) Average values (±SE) of growth rate expressed as mm per h.
