Contours of the maximum principal stress in the veneer (a) and core (b) layers in LAVA/Y-TZP subject to controlled cooling. For veneer layer, the maximum tensile stress is about 70 MPa at central fossa. For core layer, the maximum tensile stress is about 90 MPa near the interface.
