The rate of CO2-dependent oxygen evolution as a function of light intensity in the control (YFD1) and Fd-GOGAT-deficient (HOF12) strains of P. boryanum. The cyanobacterial cells were suspended in nitrate-free BG11 medium. After addition of 10 mm NaHCO3 to the medium, oxygen evolution was measured under increasing light intensities from 10 to 210 μE m−2 s−1.
