Power of the aerobic fitness effect on tip-of-the-tongue occurrence in function of the number of participants. Power is estimated as the chance of detecting a non-zero effect of aerobic fitness on the probability of experiencing a tip-of-the-tongue state in a simulation study with 1000 simulation runs. The figure indicates that already a small sample size leads to a high power of the study. Error bars represent the 95% confidence interval for the proportion of simulation runs in which the null-hypothesis was rejected.
