Triplicate culture of 10⁴ bacilli of M. ulcerans CU001 (A), M. ulcerans ATCC25900 (B) and M. ulcerans ATCC33728 (C) in Middlebrook 7H10 under different atmospheres (ambient atmosphere, and microaerophilic, anaerobic and 5% CO₂-enriched atmosphere). Microaerophilic atmosphere yielded the optimal growth of M. ulcerans (red line).
