The PS is required to suppress IFN production in bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs). Cultured BMDMs from B6 or MDA5−/− mice were infected at an MOI of 1 PFU/cell with either rA59WT or rA59PS−, and RNA was isolated at the indicated time points. The levels of IFN-I (A and C) and gRNA (B and D) were measured by qRT-PCR and normalized to HPRT levels. The average and standard error of the mean for six biological replicates are plotted from two independent experiments.
