Figure 5

Set-up for in vivo mouse imaging at the Munich Compact Light Source. The mouse is held head-high in a vertical position to enable either an anteroposterior (AP) projection (e.g. of the lungs) or a lateral (Lat) projection (e.g. through the trachea). The mouse can be intubated and ventilated, with the ventilator configured to send a trigger signal to the detector to minimize respiratory motion during an exposure of the lungs. The source-to-sample distance R1 was 4 m and the propagation distance R2 was chosen as 1 m.
