The plants were treated at the green-bud stage, i.e. when flower buds were first apparent at the apex of the main flowering stem. Foliar absorption ranged from 87% to 97% of the applied 14C. Not all plant parts were harvested; therefore, total recovery of 14C was not determined. Values are means, with se shown in parentheses.
