Standard photosynthetic parameters were measured on OX5 plants with increased OsALMT4 expression and R58 plants with reduced OsALMT4 expression and their respective null lines. Average of CO2 assimilation rate (A,μmol CO2 m-2s-1) and stomatal conductance (gs, mol H2O m-2s-1) from the light response curves is presented as well as biochemical derived parameters (Φ, quantum yield; 𝜃, convexity factor; Jmax, theoretical maximum rate of electron transport at saturating light). Gas exchange was measured for the flag leaves of 6-week-old plants grown in a glasshouse (n = 4 biological replicates per genotype). Irradiance intensity and [CO2] are indicated. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) using a general linear model was performed using the function aov in R language to quantify the effects of genotype on different parameters. Differences between means in a pairwise comparison were tested using Tukey’s honestly test with package “predictmeans” (n = 4) and no significant differences were detected between OX5 and OX5_null or between R58 and R58_null.
