The range for the age and the ELC scores is reported in the square brackets. There were no significant differences between high‐ and low‐risk infants in age (t(27) = −0.07, P = 0.55), gender (X 2(1, N = 29) = 1.88, P = 0.17) or ELC standard scores (t(27) = 1.44, P = 0.16).
