The stochastic nature of protein crystal contacts. (b) In ensemble member 40 in the structure of HIV hydrolase, GluA21 of the reference molecule and LysA43 of the symmetry-related molecule contact by means of electrostatic interaction. (c) Salt bridge and van der Waals interactions in ensemble member 28.
