Increases in NCP (mmol C m−2 hr−1) in control tide pools were associated with (A) increases in pH (total scale hr−1; R2 = 0.62, P = 0.007), (B) declines in pCO2 (µatm hr−1; R2 = 0.47, P = 0.029), (C) increases in net ecosystem calcification (mmol CaCO3 m−2 hr−1; R2 = 0.67, P = 0.004), and (D) increases in O2 concentrations (mg m−2 hr−1; R2 = 0.65, P = 0.005).
