Experimental timeline.
Mice were implanted with a cannula for 4 days and were intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) injected with 5 μL of recombinant human vascular endothelial growth factor-C (rhVEGF-C) (200 μg/mL) or phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) once every 2 days. Four injections were performed. Immunofluorescence staining, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the behavioral tests were performed 7 days after the last injection.
