Method used for assessing the appropriateness of the recommendations from the proposed decision aid (PDA), when patients choose to consume alcohol, for which the insulin pump bolus calculator does not provide insulin dosing recommendations. If the BG at t_i+1 was low or at target and the PDA did not recommend insulin the recommendation from the PDA was appropriate; if the PDA recommended insulin the recommendation was not considered appropriate. If the BG at t_i+1 was high and the PDA recommended insulin the recommendation from the PDA was appropriate; if the PDA did not recommend insulin the recommendation was not considered appropriate. Given that our PDA is not compared against another calculator, outperformance is not defined.
