FIG 6

HCV exerts persistence of γH2AX foci in response to DNA damaging agents and impairs DNA damage repair activity. (A) The percentages of cells harboring more than 5 or 10 γH2AX foci/cell in mock- and Jc1-infected cells were determined. (B) The percentages of cells harboring more than 5 or 10 γH2AX foci/cell in vector-stable or two different NS5A-stable cells were determined. (C) Huh7.5 cells were either mock infected or infected with Jc1 and then treated with the indicated doses of DNA damaging agents for 24 h. Cell survival was measured by WST assay. (D) Vector-stable or NS5A-stable cells were treated with the indicated doses of DNA damaging agents. At 24 h posttreatment, cell survival was measured by WST assay. Experiments were performed in triplicate. The asterisks indicate significant differences (*, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; and ***, P < 0.001).
