Arginine protease activity is required for Mfa1 polymerization. Whole cell lysates of 33277 WT, Δmfa1, ΔrgpA/B, and Δkgp were treated at 60° or 100°C prior to SDS-PAGE followed by immunoblotting with antibodies to Mfa1. Results are representative of 3 biological replicates.
