Mfa1 polymerization is unaffected by N-terminal or C-terminal β-strand disruption. Mature Mfa1 protein or derivatives with the N-terminal β-strand proline-substituted (NTB), or the C-terminal β-strand proline substituted (CTB) were treated separately at 60° or 100°C prior to SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting with antibodies to Mfa1.
