The hybrid dose calculation algorithm for MRT inherits photon transport from Monte Carlo dose calculation and electron transport from dose kernel convolution based dose calculation. The energy transfer from photons to electrons is separated into primary (red) and secondary (green) scattering. The primary dose is further processed with dose kernel convolution for electron transport (see figure 2).
