Fig. 1. A carbohydrate microarray based approach for the screening of functional glycans which stimulate ROS production by binding to the cell-surface lectin. Unmodified glycans are immobilized on the hydrazide-coated glass slide to construct carbohydrate microarrays. Lectin expressing cells pretreated with a ROS probe are applied to the carbohydrate microarrays. The fluorescence intensity of each spot is measured by using a microscopy and/or a microarray scanner.
