(A) DCEK-SIGN-R1 cells (107 cells per mL) incubated with 1 μM Hoechst 33342 and 50 μM PF1 for 1 h in culture media in the absence or presence of 2 mM apocynin, 30 mM N-acetylcysteine or 10 mM sodium pyruvate were applied to the carbohydrate microarrays (distance between centers of adjacent spots: 350 μm). After incubation for 1 h, the bound cells were imaged by using a microscopy and/or a microarray scanner. (B) Quantitative analysis of fluorescence intensity (arbitrary units) of PF1 in (A) (error bar: mean ± s.d., n = 3).
