ANXA5 knockdown reduced the expression level of VIMENTIN and integrin pathway molecules CRKI, CRKII, DOCK180, and RAC1, as well as ERK pathway molecules p-MEK, p-ERK1 and p-ERK2. The inactive effect on these molecules result in suppressing signal transductions from cell surface into nuclear to invoke MMP9 and C-MYC. CD34 and VEGF-3, two angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis indicators, was both inhibited by ANXA5 knockdown. All of these changes lead to decreased in vitro proliferation, migration and invasion, and in vivo tumorigenicity and metastasis of hepatocarcinoma cells
