GFP-PHPKB is not recruited to the plasma membrane in cells treated with PI 3-kinase inhibitors. Cells expressing GFP-PHPKB (A) were allowed to attach to coverslips, and drug-treated cells (B) were incubated with 20 μM LY294002 for 15 min. The cells were then incubated in the presence of HL5 containing 2 mg/ml Texas Red dextran, and images were captured by confocal microscopy as described in MATERIALS AND METHODS.
