Relationships between main outcome variables. The relationships between main outcome variables were assessed using Pearson product moment correlation with data from all groups pooled. Low cardiac baroreflex sensitivity (A and B) and heart rate variability (CF) at rest were related to a smaller increase in cardiac output and greater increase in total peripheral resistance during exercise. AUC, area under the curve; RMSSD, root mean square of successive heart beat internal differences; SDNN, standard deviation of normal cardiac cycles.
