Regenerating arm in octopus. A scientific drawing of (possibly) Octopus vulgaris showing the first right arm regenerating after a lesion that occurred in the most proximal part of the arm. The stump shows a big sucker and a regenerating tip. The third left arm shows the apparent effect of an injury, as it is much shorter and thinner than the other arms.
