Activation by C-terminal deletions of the CARD–Coiled Coil (CC) protein family members. C-terminal deletion mutants in (B) consist of the CARD (blue) and CC (purple) domains, to the left of the dashed line. (B) Mutants of CARD–CC family members with C-terminal deletions were expressed in human HEK293T cells together with an NF-κB-dependent luciferase reporter gene and a constitutively expressed β-galactosidase reporter gene plasmids. Luciferase values were normalized against β-galactosidase and expressed as fold induction compared to full-length (with intramolecular repression) CARD-9.
