Suppression of fibrotic gene expression by CSSC in CCG. Relative gene expression levels for (A) collagen III (Col3a1) and (B) smooth muscle actin (Acta2) were compared for eyes treated with CCG only, and CCG containing CSSC 14 days after wounding. Values represent fold increase in mRNA abundance compared to control corneas using qPCR as described in “Materials and Methods” section. Triplicate analyses were carried out. Error bars show SD.
