Measured δ¹³C values of mineral precipitates (closed boxes) and DIC from hot spring waters (blue lines). Open boxes show the expected isotopic values of the water from which a mineral structure precipitated under equilibrium conditions. Mineral precipitate values are plotted in order from top to bottom of sampled structure. No data was collected from the mineral precipitate of Site 4 due to the loss of the sample during transport. δ¹³C values are referenced to the Vienna PeeDee Belemnite (VPDB) standard.
