A schematic diagram for visualization of the pattern of differences between Amblyopes and Controls (AMB minus CTRL). The one partial correlation that survived correction for multiple comparisons is shown in red between the e3 and e2 eccentricity ROIs of V1. This correlation was stronger in amblyopes, and it correlated with worse eye acuity. It was also noted that similar trends existed (for both partial correlation and correlation) for enhanced within-area connectivity between e2 and e3 in V2 and V3 (shown in light red). Finally, the pervasive trend (both partial and regular correlation) for isoeccentricity hierarchical connections between visual areas to be reduced in amblyopes compared to control is indicated in light blue.
