Elevated levels of Mg2+ in APP/PS1 Tg mice decrease the activity of glial cells. (A–D) The APP/PS1 Tg mice at the age of 4 months old were administered Mg2+ (100 mg/kg/d) for 5 months before collecting the brain (n = 8). The slices of mouse brains were double-stained with GFAP (A,B), Iba-1 (green) (C,D), or Aβ (red) (A–D) antibody before observation using confocal microscopy. These images are representative of eight independent experiments, all with similar results.
