The structural model of TA2F₁ D92A/R92A mutant, whose ɛ subunit apparently does not bind ATP, as deposited in the Protein Database (PDB ID: 5IK2). It can be observed that the α₃β₃ interacts with subunits γ and ɛ of the other ATP synthase. Subunits ɛ, γ and α₃β₃ are shown in green (red), magenta (cyan) and orange (blue) in cartoon representation, respectively. Contacts of the α₃β₃ assembly with subunits ɛ and γ in the distance of 5 Å are shown in yellow (grey) and lime (purple), respectively.
