Centromeres were successfully placed on all LGs in the female map and 19 of 28 LGs in the male map. LGs So9 and So9.5 are the sex chromosomes in sockeye salmon and are represented by 2 acrocentric LGs in the female map and a single metacentric LG in the male map (see text for additional information).
