T-type calcium channels mediate burst firing in mature granule cells. Burst firing was impaired by bath application of different T-type channel blockers: Mibefradil, TTA-A2 and NNC-55 0396. These blockers, similarly to nickel, profoundly affected the first ISI, with no significant modification of the tonic spikes (fourth ISI).
