Time spent on the open arms of the elevated plus maze as a measure of anxious-like behavior in male and female C57BL/6 naive, chronic stress, nonstressed post-SNI and chronic stress post-SNI mice (each group contained n = 16–20 mice). Repeated-measures ANOVA results a main effect of SNI (P < 0.001), a significant Stress vs SNI interaction (P < 0.005), and follow-up Tukey test analyses indicate that the control stress groups spent more time on the open arms control SNI groups (P < 0.05, in blue).
