Strategies and approaches to optimize human brain organoid models. Combination of biomaterials, bioengineering approaches with improved 3D culture techniques will be needed to create the next generation of human brain organoid models (Kelava and Lancaster, 2016a,b; Qian et al., 2016; Yin et al., 2016; Bagley et al., 2017; Lancaster et al., 2017; Paşca, 2018). While standardized protocols and shared methodologies could be beneficial to research community, the combination of different organoid techniques must be rationalized in individual studies to better model human brain.
